"I sent my daughter to Kath Clerkin in order to give her more confidence in maths.  She felt she had missed some of the basics at primary school and was having problems understanding some of the Year 7 curriculum.  I sensed that really it was a confidence thing as she had attained a Level 5 at the end of Year 6 but had dropped down to a Level 4a in the middle of Year 7.  However, this could have turned into a bigger problem had we let this continue.  She went to Kath on a weekly basis and enjoyed it from day one.  Kath gave her confidence and was brilliant at understanding her needs, explaining the basics to her again and going over current work.   I would highly recommend her.  My daughter has just had her end-of-year exams and is back up to a 5a, only two marks off a 6c."

"I enjoyed going to Kath, I actually really looked forward to it. I was nervous on my first day but Kath made me feel better straightaway.  She is patient and approachable and doesn’t mind how many times you ask her something.  I feel my most confident now and happy that I went to Kath.  I would love to have stayed there forever."

"My son is being home-educated for the remaining months of Year 6.  He looks forward to his weekly lessons with Kath who in his own words ‘makes learning fun’.  His confidence has grown since seeing Kath, she is constantly praising him and has a brilliant reward scheme.  He loves getting his certificates. Her method of teaching is so positive we couldn’t be happier."

"Kath identified my son’s individual needs very sensitively and thoughtfully in an incredibly detailed way.  He always felt he had really learned something at Kath’s and so each week I could see his confidence grow.  Kath helped him reach his potential so he could go to the school that he and we felt was right for him.  I felt totally confident with Kath that she would help him reach his potential."
